Electromed Fills Chief Operating Officer Role


Electromed Inc. has named James J. Cassidy, Ph.D., as its chief operating officer. Cassidy’s focus will be in engineering, product development, regulatory and manufacturing.


“Jim will make a very important contribution as a new resource to all of us at Electromed,” said Robert Hansen, chairman and CEO. “He will be a strong contributor toward making Electromed a larger and stronger company, but he will also help fortify the values and history upon which its foundations rest.”

Cassidy’s experience includes 20 years of international management in the medical device industry.
He also has served as CEO for U.S.- and Europe-based start-up companies, and as vice president of development for ApaTech Ltd. (which is part of Baxter Healthcare Corporation). In addition, he was chief operating officer ofMinnetonka, Minn.-based spinal implant manufacturer Vertebral Technologies Inc. In 2010, Cassidy founded TransAtlantic Medical Device Consulting, LLC, a business development and technology consulting services firm.


Electromed is headquartered in New Prague, Minn.
